Imogene Gover Jones of Raleigh, North Carolina, died on July 5th, 2017, following an unexpected illness. Imogene's birth parents were Ethel Mae Carlisle and William Ford Timmons of Western Kentucky. She was given the name, Ford Imogene Timmons, after her father. She was later adopted by the Gover family in Ferguson, Kentucky, where she lived until early adulthood. Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel David Jones; her beloved son, David Franklin Jones; and her loving cat, Tiger.

Imogene was a devoted wife and mother, and spent her career as a bookkeeper and legal assistant. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh. Imogene is survived by her daughter, Julie Alison Jones Collins, and her son-in-law, Ronald Graham Collins, whom she loved as if he were her own. She is also survived by extended family members and a multitude of close friends: Connie Molen of Berea, Kentucky; Lynn and Jessica Strother of Cary, North Carolina; and Barbara Upton Geiger and Jenna Miller of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Imogene touched many lives with love and kindness to both people and animals. She was an avid animal rescuer, caring for many neighborhood cats and dogs, adopting most, and finding homes for the rest.

Please contact Imogene's family, Julie and Ronnie, to make plans to celebrate her life, a life that they were so fortunate to have shared.
