Randolph James Hill, 55, of Raleigh, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 3, 2017. He was born March 9, 1962 in Bath, NY.

Randy grew up in Bath, NY and attended Haverling High School. While he enjoyed classes, nothing made him happier than playing baseball - especially when he hit a homerun at the Red Wing stadium in Rochester, NY.

He went on to attend Notre Dame University as ROTC Army for his undergraduate degree, and Wake Forest for his law degree. Soon after, he served as a Captain in the United States Army JAG Corps from 1987 to 1993.

While working as an attorney in Raleigh, NC for the past 24 years he found plenty of ways to enjoy his free time. As an avid sports fan he enjoyed playing golf, cheering for Notre Dame football, the Carolina Hurricanes, and the New York Yankees at his favorite sports bars. He loved hanging out with his family and friends and offering his political views.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Betty Lou and Patt Gleason, sister and brother-in-law, Ronica and Tim VanGelder, niece and nephew, Erin and Mitchell VanGelder, along with many close aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday December 10, 2017 at 2:00pm at Mitchell's Funeral Home 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Randy's honor to the FH Foundation. www.thefhfoundaton.org
